ORIGINAL MEMORIES

Preface
Having recently become addicted to pursuing my own genealogy, I know that I would value a first-hand account of what life was like as lived by my parents, grandparents, great grandparents, etc. I recently unearthed a box of such first-hand memories of parts of our lives together, starting with our marriage in 1943 and continuing sporadically until 1960. In the hope that someday my children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, etc., might find them of interest, I have made new copies and grouped the results together in two small volumes. The material is reproduced exactly as written, with no concession given to making it more grammatical or more legible.
Volume I is concerned with our life together and is mostly written by Thea. Volume II is concerned with my experiences in the U.S. Maritime Service and Merchant Marine. Each volume has been divided into chapters, and a brief paragraph added at the beginning of each chapter giving the state of the original document(s).
